AT THE MOVIES Cabaret Night with Will McMillan, Brian Patton (piano), Michael Ricca & Nina Vansuch Tuesday Evening, June 12, 2001 at 7 p.m. This sparkling cabaret revue celebrates movie music from the 50s and 60s with lush harmonies, playful staging, and new spins on old favorites by Bacharach, Mancini, John Lennon & McCartney, and others. The four performers bring strong individual backgrounds and character to the show. McMillan was a founding member of the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists, and has become the Director of Public Relations for the Cabaret Connection, which he founded, at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. Having appeared locally with the New Repetory Theatre, Centastage, and Speakeasy Stage Company, Ricca is incorporating his strong musical theater background into cabaret. Vansuch has worked in all aspects of the arts, including writing, illustration, sculpture and performing. Patton is a singer, dancer, actor, pianist, choral arranger and teacher. Presented in part by a grant from the Boston Arts Lottery, an agency of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts. |
